Forest Fire Crew goes to Jackson Township, Dauphin County

 

 
Wed, May 2nd, 2012 2:16:00 am - Around 1530 Hours, Company 22 (Lykens) was dispatched to the area of Lykens Rd/ and Powells Valley Road for a smoke investigation.  X22-2 Found the nature of the smoke and the box was upgraded bringing the Forestry crew from Muir.  Crew remained on the scene for about 6.5 hours assisting with extinguishment and overhall of the fire which involved about 58.8 acres. ...More Info and Pictures

Schuylkill County burn ban enacted

 

 
Tue, Apr 24th, 2012 3:27:00 pm - Schuylkill County has been experiencing extended periods of low humidity and insufficient rainfall, resulting in very dangerous fire conditions. Therefore, on the recommendation of the District Forester of the Weiser Forest District, Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources , the Schuylkill County Commissioners have approved a county-wide ban on open burning that will take effect at noon on Friday April 20, 2012 and will remain in place until noon on Sunday May 20, 2012. Tractor Trailer accident on Interstate 81

 

 
Fri, Apr 13th, 2012 3:45:00 am - Early on the 13th, a Crew from Muir responded to interstate 81 for a accident with injuries.  SCCC advised that the tractor and trailer hit 2 trees and the driver was possbily ejected.  Chief 21 arrived on the scene with the driver who had multiples injuries. Rescue Engine 650 was given the assignment to divert traffic down to one lane, then proceed to the scene and assist with hazard control.  Crew assisted with debris removal and cutting up several parts of the trees that were hit ...More Info and Pictures

Tue, Apr 10th, 2012 11:21:00 am - The Muir Forestry crew was requested to assist at a large Mountain Fire on Swamp Road in the area of Camp Hebron, Halifax Twp. A crew of 7 responded with Light brush 650 and by POV. Crew was given the assignment to secure the western flank. Crew remained on scene for several hours before being released. Heavy Equipment Rescue

 

 
Mon, Apr 9th, 2012 12:45:00 pm - Today around 1245 hrs, Schuylkill County Communications dispatched Company 650 along with, Joliet, Tremont and Ravine fire companies to the Rausch Creek Properties off of Lincoln Rd for a reported Heavy Equipment Rescue.  The Rescue Engine from Muir responded within minutes.  While en-route SCCC advised that there was a boulder fell from the side of a bank hitting a large loader and trapping the operator.  Chief 810 assumed command and requested company 650's crew to manpower to the scene.  upon arrival it was discovered that ...More Info and Pictures

Upon arriving on scene a smoke column appeared to the south west of the original fire.  Chief 21-1 sent brush 650 to investigate. Semi Annual Cpr Refresher
